Privacy Policy

Last updated: 14 October 2026

This policy explains what personal information I collect, why I collect it, and what I do with it. It applies to this website and to the care I provide at all four clinics.

I take this seriously. A lot of what you tell me is health information, which the law treats as deserving extra protection, and so do I.

Who I am

The Look you Deserve -Medical Aesthetics is run by Linda Miles, RGN BSc, Independent Nurse Prescriber, registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council under PIN 90J1702E.

I am the data controller for the information described in this policy. That means I decide what is collected and I am responsible for looking after it.

What I collect

When you contact me through this website or by phone, I collect your name, your contact details, and whatever you choose to tell me about what you would like help with.

When you come in for a consultation or treatment, I collect a fuller record. That includes your medical history, any medicines you take, allergies, previous treatments, the assessment I carry out, what we agree, what I give you, and any aftercare or follow-up. Where you give consent, this may include photographs taken before and after treatment.

When you visit this website, my hosting provider records standard technical information such as your IP address and browser type, which is used to keep the site running and secure.

I do not collect anything I do not need, and I do not ask for more than the treatment requires.

Why I collect it, and the legal basis

Under UK data protection law I have to tell you the lawful basis for using your information. For ordinary personal details such as your name and phone number, I rely on there being a contract between us, or on my legitimate interest in running the practice and replying to enquiries.

Health information is what the law calls special category data and needs a second basis on top. I rely on Article 9(2)(h) of the UK GDPR, which covers the provision of health care by a health professional who is bound by a duty of confidentiality. As a registered nurse I am bound by that duty under the NMC Code.

In plain terms: I keep clinical records because I cannot treat you safely without them.

For photographs, and for anything beyond your care such as marketing, I rely on your consent, which you give separately and can withdraw at any time.

Who I share it with

I do not sell your information and I do not share it for marketing.

I may share it in these situations:

  • With your GP or another clinician, where that is necessary for your safety and with your agreement, except in an emergency where I cannot ask first.
  • With my insurer or legal adviser, if a claim or complaint is made. I am insured with Hamilton Fraser.
  • With the pharmacy or supplier dispensing a prescription, where a prescription-only medicine is involved.
  • Where the law requires it, such as a court order or a safeguarding concern.
  • With the people who run my systems, such as my website host and email provider. They process information on my behalf and under contract, and they cannot use it for their own purposes.

How long I keep it

Clinical records are kept for three years after your last treatment, and are then securely destroyed.

Enquiries that do not lead to treatment are not kept on file. Once I have replied and the matter is closed, I delete them.

Photographs are kept with your clinical record, and are deleted sooner if you withdraw consent.

How I keep it safe

Records are kept on paper in a locked cabinet. Only I have access to them. I work alone and no one else sees your records.

The rooms I treat from are inside host salons and clinics. Those businesses have no access to your records and are not involved in your care.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Ask for a copy of the information I hold about you
  • Have anything inaccurate corrected
  • Ask me to delete information, although I may have to keep clinical records for the retention period above
  • Object to or restrict how I use it
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where I relied on your consent
  • Receive your information in a portable format

Ask me and I will deal with it within one month. There is no charge. You can reach me on 07786 233178 or at lindamiles08@gmail.com.

If you are not happy with how I have handled your information, please tell me first so I can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
